Operated by the Mesa Police Aviation Section, Falcon 7 is an MD530F whose primary missions include every facet of law enforcement, search and rescue, and fire suppression. It is based at Falcon Field (FFZ) in Mesa, Arizona.


Mesa Police helicopters average eight flight hours a day, seven days a week, and answer approximately eighteen calls a day. Its average response time to calls for assistance is fifty-four seconds. Since helicopter's inception in 1994, the aviation section has assisted in recovering over $18,000,000 in stolen property and locating more than 600 missing persons. The helicopter is typically flown at an elevation of 500 to 700 feet. It is equipped with an onboard public address system, a searchlight, and an infrared camera system used during investigations of criminal activity or while searching for missing persons.

The Aviation Section consists of eight full-time helicopter pilots who are also proficient Tactical Flight Officers (TFOs), seven part-time TFOs, two
mechanics, and one civilian aviation administrator.
