A&P Helicopters N502HB is a helicopter art print from an original illustration. (This is not a cut out from a photograph or a flight simulator). Meticulously detailed, the helicopter is set against a shadow of the Sierra Buttes in Nevada County, and the description text is bordered by the A&P Helicopters logo and the American and state flags.

Perfect for award presentations, the office or home, or as a gift for that helicopter fan. Printed on high quality, heavy weight Luster paper using a 12 color pigmented, archival ink system.

The description on the print states:

N508HB is a 1978 MD 500D owned and operated by A&P Helicopters based in Richvale, CA. The MD 500 lineage began when Hughes Aircraft developed the winning concept for a light observation helicopter designated the OH-6 Cayuse by the U.S. Army. At the same time, Hughes began development of a civilian version known as Model 369, which eventually became the Hughes 500, and later the MD 500 produced by MD Helicopters.

In 1976, the ‘D’ model was delivered with a T-tail, a more powerful engine, and a five-blade main rotor. This particular 500D was originally operated by the Huntington Beach Police Department; hence the N number. This very busy workhorse is now called upon for HEC (Human External Cargo), law enforcement, power line construction and maintenance, fire fighting, charter and utility, and work with the film industry.
